Residents’ & Families Party 2026

On the 4th September, The Meath community took to the dance floor with a big ABBA- themed disco party at Godalming’s Wilfred Noyce Community Centre. It was fantastic to see so many of the people we support, together with their families and staff enjoying the day!

Special events, such as this, really mean the world to the people we support and their families. Living with complex epilepsy and seizures can mean that the people we support sometimes miss out on social opportunities and special events.

A Meath parent explained just how wonderful it was to see her daughter dancing and having fun at the event.

“I’m so pleased to see her so happy and dancing with her friend. She’s been in and out of hospital lately and has had such a hard time with her epilepsy. Today feels like such a win!”

Shining Like the Sun...Feeling like a Number One!

This much-anticipcated day marked the end of a fun-filled summer. Having enjoyed Sports Day and a beach-themed party on-site at The Meath, holding the party in their local community added an additional element of excitement. Also popular were the fantastic Mamma Mia themed tribute act who provided a high-energy and engaging set, packed with all the favourities!

Take a look at our highlights from the day!

” I liked dancing with my sister and introducing myself to people.”

   Philippa

” I enjoyed the music and dancing and seeing everybody have fun.”

   Peter

“It was wonderful, I loved it and so did my mum.”

  Hananh

” It was heart-warming to see the care that went into ensuring all residents who wanted to attend could do so safely. The Abba act had everyone up and dancing! The best part was seeing the friendships between the residents, and staff joining in with them. Thank you for a truly feel-good event, that makes me so happy that my son is able to live at the Meath and participate in activities like this.”

Kelly, Mother

Thank you for the Music!

The day included so many magic moments for the people we support and their families, but it didn’t happen by magic. Many thanks to our staff teams for working together to plan, co-ordinate and deliver such a fantastic Meath event.

As always, special thanks to our dedicated team of Support Workers who made sure that everyone got to the party safely, on time, and enjoyed themselves!

Events such as this require team work, support from across the organisation, and help from our amazing volunteers.

“The party was a wonderful example of teamwork across The Meath. Colleagues from the Skills Centre, residential services, Maintenance and The Hive all played their part, with our staff safely supporting everyone to and from the venue. The best part was seeing the joy on the faces of the people we support, enjoying the music and sharing such a happy afternoon with their families. A real team effort and a very special day.”

Catherine, Head of Operations

With kind thanks to the people we support, their families, staff, and volunteers for coming together to support a great Meath event.
