Opera Recital in the Cotswolds

We are delighted that Meath parent and world-renowned Bass singer, Brindley Sherratt, will be performing with Holly Teague accompanied by David Doidge in an opera recital in aid of The Meath Epilepsy Charity (Charity Number 200359).

Brindley is revered for his extraordinary vocal and stage presence, he is noted all over the world for roles such as Baron Ochs Der Rosenkavalier, Claggart Billy Budd, Gurnemanz Parsifal, Hunding Die Walküre and Sarastro Die Zauberflöte.  Holly Teague was announced as a 2026 Elizabeth Connell Prize Quarter-finalist, a competition dedicated to female dramatic voices.  She has performed with prestigious companies including Garsington Opera, Scottish Opera and Wexford Festival Opera. Her repertoire includes roles such as Clarine in Rameau’s Platée and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni.  She is also the founder and director of UK Proms in the Park.  Accompanying them will be David Doidge who has worked at many of the UK opera houses, including Glyndebourne, English National Opera, Grange Park Opera and Opera North. Previously Chorus Master and a member of Music Staff at Welsh National Opera, he has worked with many internationally acclaimed artists across a breadth of repertoire.

We shall be enjoying a fascinating programme involving music from the operas Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Simon Boccanegra (Verdi), La Bohème (Puccini) and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

This opera recital takes place in the elegant setting of a private home in Broadway, Worcestershire in their music room which was built for the American actress, Mary Anderson. Tea and coffee will be served upon arrival at 11.45 and the concert will commence at 12.15. The concert will be followed by a buffet lunch with drinks and, weather permitting, a chance to enjoy the stunning gardens which were originally laid out by the garden designer and illustrator Alfred Parsons.

Each ticket is £100 including a voluntary donation of £15 which is Gift Aid eligible. Tickets include a buffet lunch and refreshments upon arrival.

Ticket Conditions:

  1. Tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable in any event, including cancellation of the performance.
  2. In the event of cancellation the ticket proceeds less costs will be added to the sum being donated to The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
  3. We reserve the right to make any alterations to the programme/performance – especially as the performers are donating their services.
  4. Photography and video / sound recording of any kind during the performance are prohibited.
  5. We will be sharing the ticket purchasers’ names only with the owner of the venue.
